Lyrics - The Story of Ricki Ticki Tavi
Well I have got a story to tell
About a little mongoose that I knew quite well
By the name of Ricki Ticki Tavi
He drifted in from Segowlee
To the Bungelow
Met a boy named Teddy
Quick to be friends with old Ricki Ticki Tavi
They were friends for a long old time
Ricki with Teddy always by his side
Nothing came between that boy and his mongoose
Well one day a snake headed strait for teddy
But old Ricki Ticki was crouched and ready
He pounced that snake and promptly tore its head off
Than he ate that snake and he yelled and cried
The ancient call of mongoose pride
It went "RICK TICKI TICKI
RICK TICKI TICKI TICKI TAVI
RICK TICK TICKI TICKI
RICK TICKI TICKI TICKI TAVI!"
Mean old Nag was a cobra snake
With a deadly bite and a venomous hate
He said, "I'm gona kill that Ricki Ticki Tavi"
He snuck up on Ricki from behind
But Rick was quick and he moved in time
Before old Nag could even land a blow
Ricki said "Now you done and made me mad!"
And his eyes grew red as he jumped for Nag
And they started to dance to a deadly tune
They tossed and turned through the grass and mud
In a tangled ball of fur and blood
Never was a fight so evenly matched
Then Ricki tripped and fell on his back
And Nag reared up for the final attack
When a glint of sun caught him in the eye
Well this was the chance that Ricki needed
So he rolled to the left and he sunk his teeth in
Said to him self "Ricki don't let go!"
Well Ricki was tattered to and fro
Until the cry of death came from his worthy foe
Like music to his weary ears
Than he ate that snake and he yelled and cried
The ancient call of mongoose pride
It went "RICK TICKI TICKI
RICK TICKI TICKI TICKI TAVI
RICK TICK TICKI TICKI
RICK TICKI TICKI TICKI TAVI!"
